Bed bugs often leave an air of disgust in many minds, however, they are no respecter of persons. You could be the cleanest person out there and still get bed bugs, especially how versatile and fast-paced travel is today. Bed bugs can jump suitcases in airports or climb on clothes in hotels. Bed bugs frequent and spread easily in crowded living spaces like apartment complexes or college dorm rooms. Occasionally they are brought into theaters, too.

Do you do heat treatment or chemical?
Species like carpenter ants excavate wood, weakening foundations, walls, and roofs. Over time, this can result in thousands of dollars in repairs, especially in older buildings common in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
Do I have to do a lot of prep work?
Actually, we prefer if you didn’t. It is important that our technicians see the full level of infestation so they can treat accordingly. If you prepare for treatment, it can spook the bugs into hiding. If the technician needs you to do something, he will let you know at the time of the first treatment.
With heat treatments, you’d have to remove everything that could melt or catch on fire. It can be time consuming and costly.
Can I still wash my clothes and bedding?
Yes, preferably dry them on the highest heat setting. This will ensure that if there were any live bugs or eggs in the clothes or bedding that they are dead.
How long does treatment take?
The treatment itself varies depending on the number of bedrooms and other rooms that need to be treated or spot treated. It also depends on the level of bed bug activity that you have. It can take anywhere between one and two hours for residential homes, longer for multiple apartments at a time.
How many treatments does it take?
The liquid product is very effective. Within the first couple hours you should see results and then there is still progress for several days to a week or so after. We do give two week follow-ups to ensure that even the eggs that were sedentary (and have hatched since the first treatment) get eradicated.
How does the technician treat exactly?
While every case is different, the treatment methods are often similar as bed bugs have common routines. Once the technician arrives and assesses the activity level, he will know more of how to treat. Bed bugs usually like to hang out in dark, wooden areas (like under baseboards, door frames, head boards, bed legs, bed frames, window frames, etc. The technician will treat some or all these areas once he knows the level of activity.
Do I have to treat all bedrooms?
It depends on the level of activity in the main affected bedroom. Bed bugs spread very easily. As a result, it is of vital importance that the technician inspects (and at least spot treats in) all rooms where there could be any sign of activity.
How effective is the chemical treatment?
Once the two week follow-up is completed, we rarely have any callbacks for residential homes. From the first visit, we give a three month guarantee to ensure that you will not be charged for any additional visits or treatments.
Do I have to leave after the treatment?
No. This product adheres directly to the areas in which it is applied. It does not waft into the air. If there is any odor, it is not dangerous to breathe, but to scent-sitive, it might bring concern. The treatment is even safe to the touch after it dries (in one hour). Please keep all children and pets away from the treated areas for that length of time.
Is it safe for pets?
It is safe, once it dries. Keep all pets away from the treated areas for one hour. Dogs usually lead with their noses so they could become irritated from the product.
Is the treatment expensive?
Bed bug treatments are the more costly treatments that Paffy’s offers. In our experience, we have found that chemical treatments are more affordable than heat treatments. The pricing is based on the number of bedrooms that need to be treated.

No. We require full payment up front.
